• Port Security Concerns - Washington, D.C. - The chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee wants to know how an Arab company is going to prevent al-Qaida operatives from being hired at US ports under its control. It's one of the questions raised by Republican Peter King following the Bush administration's decision to allow an Arab company to take over port operations in six US cities including New York and Miami. • The Assembly of WEU - Europe's only interparliamentary security and defence assembly, was founded in 1954 when the 1948 Brussels Treaty was modified. The Treaty contains an unconditional mutual defence clause (Article V) and provides an organic link to NATO (Article IV).
